Anit Chhetri

Anit Chhetri is a Delhi-based Behavior Analyst with more than 8 years of experience of working with children and adults in the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Coming all the way from a small village in Darjeeling, West Bengal, through hard work and dedication Anit has carved a niche for himself in the field serving people in varied ways.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computers from St. Joseph’s College and then went on to acquire a Master’s degree in Social Work. Having worked across varied field in the social sector and understanding the ground reality, Anit was determined that he would also make a contribution to society.

With this determination and then guided by his destiny he got his first exposure to autism and Applied Behavior Analysis when he was accepted as a junior ABA therapist in an organization based in Delhi. With initial training of working with children, he realised that this was his real calling. The work that made him happy and content in the real sense of the term.

Taking a step in the direction, juggling work and the tough city life, he enrolled for the ABA coursework with the University of North Texas and started practicing independently under the supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) both in India and abroad.

In this period of practice and training, he has experience of working in diverse environment and with individuals in schools, clinics and at home.

He has the experience of working not just with children but can well support adolescents, and young adults by providing individually tailored interventions and services to help them communicate, build social skills, get toilet trained, improve eating habits, helping them learn classroom skills and everyday skills.

Along with providing autism intervention, Anit also specializes in the development and implementation of training packages for the staff and parents. His mission is to involve parents in therapy and provide them with training so that they can teach their children in the absence of therapists.

Being a Master’s level Behavior Analyst or a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Anit provides training and supervision to the students working to complete Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis in India and abroad.

To ensure that his expertise and experience can reach everyone, Anit established Lubdhak Research Foundation (LRF), with its first centre in Delhi. Within a short time, he expanded LRF to Shillong, Meghalaya. His only driving force behind establishing LRF was to ensure that the individuals in the ASD get early and right intervention—ABA. His vision his clear to touch lives of every individual living with autism and to empower them.

As an objective set to create awareness, Anit has published many self-authored articles in the newspaper. In a very short time his work has also been recognised and his story published in leading newspapers such as Hindustan Times and Times of India.

When he is not working, he is an enthusiast of playing online games and loves spends time with his two cockatiels and his shoal of fishes.
